Yep. I have already applied for two jobs in another district. I'm on maternity leave, so I have some down time at home I teach 3rd grade self-contained, and just about HATE it! I just finished my PhD, so I am hoping to get a job as a high school teacher. It's not an administration job, but the pay is higher in this district, and with TWO kids now going to daycare and student loans kicking in, we need more money. The problem is, most times districts just pull from their own faculty to fill spaces, but this high school has more than one opening in their English department, so maybe I will have a shot. I did some internship hours at that school in the fall of '09, so the principal should be somewhat familiar with me. I'm not a total stranger! I also applied for a Reading teacher job, but I am not as excited about that one. However, it's only teaching ONE subject and still get the good pay raise. We'll see I guess....

Thankfully NO! And this year I am not even worried at all about being a probationary teacher anymore. There have been 5 teachers hired after me and we have 3 openings for next year.

Not planning on it this year. But next year I'm going to try to look into a non classroom based job, like a GT resource teacher or something.
