OK, so I cannot figure out how to get to the doctor. This has never been an issue in my previous 3 years (as a student teacher or my first two years as an actual teacher.) I've been pregnant for 2 of those 3 years, and yes, I am again, so the doctor should be a big part of my life...I can't figure out how to schedule my first appointment.

At all 3 of the places I was the past 3 years I was done by 3 (2:11pm actually in Vegas), so offices could still see me after that.)

I'm done at 3:35pm, and not supposed to leave until 4pm, but slipping out that 30 minutes early wouldn't bother me, however, that won't do me any good.

My doctors office will only do the first prenatal visit Tuesday mornings, starting at 9am, or Thursday afternoons ending at 3pm. This would put me missing too many classes when illness, training and life has already put me out enough as it is.

I just don't know what to do...suggestions anyone?

Can you get another teacher to sub in for you for an hour or so at the beginning or end of the day? I've been allowed to do that before and as long as it was under a certain amount of time, I was good. We also can do quarter sick days, or half days which saves a bit on the sick days.

Yeah, I can do that, if that's all it is, but the thing is I'd have to find one for two classes at the end of the day.

I wouldn't at the beginning cuz I have prep 2nd period, but I'd be pushing it cuz my doc's office and the school, not really near each other, sort of opposite directions of each other.

You mean you can't just take a sick or personal day for a doctor's appointment? I'm confused? Are you out of days?

First appt. I just had to suck it up and take half a day of sick leave. My first P worked very well with covering my classes without me having to take off but not my second.
