Do you check your work e-mail at home? If so, do you respond to emails during "non-work" hours?

Yup, all the time. I tell students that if they email me up until about 10:00 I will respond to them that night. I teach middle school math, I want them to take some responsibility for clarifying and asking questions BEFORE they bring me a blank paper and say, "I didn't get it."

I also respond to parents as soon as I see the emails...if it's after work hours, so be it. I'd rather respond ASAP and get things heading in the right direction than wait until the next day.

I email out progress reports every Sunday night (when I'm done grading their problem sets that they turn in Fridays), so that usually solicits a bunch of parent emails late Sunday nights.

I usually email lesson plans at night/weekends which means I read my new emails. I rarely check for the sake of seeing if anything was sent directly to me after I'm at home.

I respond right away if it is a parent with something time sensitive. Otherwise, it waits until I'm at work the next day.
Mom to 4 girls - age 11 (1/05), 9 year old twins (1/07), 21 months (7/14) and baby BOY is due May 26, 2016.

For me it just depends on what I've got going on - since I've been on maternity leave I have been trying not to check it very much so I can focus on the reason I'm at home right now.
