I have this problem on one side only. I feel a burning sensation after nursing that feels like it is in the milk ducts. It changes exactly where the burning comes from but it is always on the same side. I thought maybe it could be thrush but I looked in baby's mouth and she doesnt have any white patches etc. Does anyone know what this could be?

Also, I noticed the burning stopped when I fed her on the other side. I don't know if that was just a coincidence this one time or if it always does that. I will try to pay more attention from now on.

It could just be a painful let down, but it sounds like thrush. No white patches are needed, you could be experiencing earlysigns.

Treat now & rather be safe than sorry.

Treat with Gentian Violet asap (call pharmacies to see who has it - its available without a Rx but kept behind the counter).

If theres any diaper rash, treat that with lotrimin.

Boil everything for 5 full mins every day - with 2 tsp of vinegar (Bras, binkys, anythign that goes in baby's mouth).

3 -4 days of treatment should nip it in the bud now

Oh - and probiotics!!! 3 a day for you, 1/day for baby !

Gentian violet was a lifesaver for our thrush. I ignored it for so long because everyone told me the white patches had to be present for thrush to be there. In reality, the only symptom can be the pain in mom and your baby doesn't have to have any symptoms. I hope you are feeling better soon!
