Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jessica and I'm expecting twin boys any time now. Hoping they won't decide to come out for a few more weeks though! I really need help! I want to breastfeed the twins, but am afraid I will have a difficult time.

Congratulations! I don't have any experience breastfeeding twins, but I know there is one mom who pops in here who is breastfeeding twins right now. I'm sure it will be more time consuming, but it can be done. Have you read any information on breastfeeding multiples yet?

I've read a few things on the internet and I did take a breastfeeding class, but mostly I'm just going into it clueless! I'm hoping in the hospital I will get some support with it.

congrats on your twins! Do you have a local Le Leche League you could contact for support? I think that would be a HUGE help for you.

Definately ask for the help of an LC at the hospital, but don't expect too much from them! LOL Many of them don't really know their stuff, although some do. I 2nd the suggestion for finding and LLL group close to you.

There are so many good breastfeeding books out there that can be a good reference if you have a problem. La Leche League has some. It would be good to bring at least one to the hospital with you that covers a lot on multiples. This way if the lactation consultant doesn't know an answer, you have another quick and easy reference handy!

There is a woman in my playroom with triplets. It's the May 2008 playroom. Her name is Astrid. She pumped exclusively for a long time, and has recently started actively nursing as well. She is very nice, if you bopped in and made a post asking her about it I'm sure she'd be happy to share with you. She also belongs to a moms of multiples group, so may be able to use others as a resource to answer your questions.
