I won't take birth control PP again.

I started taking the mini-pill after 8 weeks and at first it didn't seem to affect my supply or anything or so I thought. But that's probably because I would forget to take it all the time (I blame sleep deprivation ), for days at a time I wouldn't take it. When I finally started taking it daily like I was supposed to, within 4-5 days I noticed Meg would get very fussy everyday after 4pm or so - it never failed - and she'd want to nurse every hour or less most of the day. I stopped taking it and she stopped getting that way. I tried taking it again a month later but the same thing happened so I'm not taking it anymore.

I did some research and it's believed (though not much research to support it yet) that the mini-pill (and other hormonal BC) can decrease the protein and lactose content in your milk.

I don't do well with hormonal birth control anyway, but I'm terrified of screwing up breastfeeding since it is going so well this time.

like Gray_baby said, when i took the mini pill (starting arond 8 weeks PP) my LO did the same thing, after a certain time of day he would get fussy and want to nurse constantly after that. I haven't ever really done well on hormonal BC, most have caused weight gain and migrane headaches, which the mini pill caused horrible migranes for me, so i quit taking it after two months and my LO is back to normal. after reading this i think it's best for me to not take the hormonal BC and wont take it PP while BFing again.
