A full moon is the most magickally powerful time of the month. There are seven days of power associated with the Full moon: The day itself, three days before and three days after. Any magickal efforts, especially difficult ones, can benefit greatly from the potency of this time.

The time between Full Moon and Dark Moon (the Waning Moon) is a time to do banishing work (getting rid of disease, bad habits, obstacles, etc.)

Prayers, spells or rituals designed to manifest a wish or desire in your life can often be performed on Full Moon. It is also a good night to make a wish, so follow coincidence and if you spot the first star that evening or pick up a penny that day the universe may be trying to tell you something! The energy of the Full Moon can also be used to charge spiritual tools and crystals by laying them out in the moonlight.

The time in between Full Moon and New Moon is known as the waning moon. This is a time to avoid manifestation or wish work or asking for new qualities in your life, as this would be going against the natural tides and cycles of nature. However, cleansing rituals and visualisations can be done at this time, as can spells or healing work for release of that which no longer serves you, negative qualities or negativity.

This is a good time therefore to cleanse your aura using smudge, bells, rattles, visualisation, angel spray or crystals such as black obsidian or hematite, simply by drawing these tools through the aura. It is also a good time for banishing negativity. A simple way to release things which no longer serve you in your life is to write those things on a piece of paper then burn it or bury it in the earth. A black or white candle lit at this time can also banish general negativity or bad luck.
