I need help as to what form of birth control to use after I have my baby. I was on the PILL when I got pregnant this time, and well, I didn't screw up taking it, my doctors were shocked, I guess I'm a statistic and this baby was meant to be...we're thrilled! Well I have been on the Patch before and it completely screwed me up, i bled for a year straight on that and then didn't bleed for a year after...it really screwed me up! I also don't want to do the Depo because I've read really bad things about it. I won't use an IUD because of my beliefs. What the heck are we going to use after my baby comes? I don't really trust the pill now lol...Any suggestions??

With no pill, patch Depo, or IUD, there are some slim pickings, but there is the nuva ring, which I haven't personally used, but may be simialr to the IUD, so not sure if thats an option for you, then there are condoms, which may or may not work, and the pull-out method.

I would seriously consider the natural family planning method though. Definately check out the NFP board (right below this one I think) and they can help you learn how to use it. They have great success with it. On there are no hormones involved, no condoms, no nothing, just charting and learning when your fertile times are and when to avoid intercourse during the fertile times.

Hmm with all those methods you mentioned as being no-go's, I would recommend looking into Natural Family Planning or the Fertility Awareness Method - there is a board for NFP & FAM (it's actually just under this board in the index), which is really helpful!

Other than that, what about the sponge or nuva ring?
