I've had Mirena for 1.5 years. I have had a "period" maybe three times in those 1.5 years, and it is very light, lasting for maybe 24 hours.

TMI ahead: On Saturday, my husband and I BD'd. During one "move" I got a sharp, high pain - he later told me he felt my IUD this time (he never does, and wasn't able to tell me what part of it he hit). I bled some after sex, but not too much (pinkish tinged, not full on blood).

Later in the day, I had this slightly painful pinching feeling there, repeatedly. It was uncomfortable and not anything I've felt before. In the evening, my period started. It was heavier than it's been since I've had my IUD. I'm still bleeding today (Tuesday), but it's odd. It's not full-on, need a tampon the whole time bleeding. I needed a tampon on Sunday, but have been using panty liners since.

I've just never had a period like this, especially not since I've been on the IUD. I'm concerned that maybe my IUD was dislodged, but I don't even know if that's possible.

Any advice would be really appreciated -- I'm nervous

i would suggest calling your ob/gyn....you probably should be seen cause the IUD may not be in properly causing the bleeding...i have never had an IUD before but they should do an ultra sound and see what is going on
