I've been lurking here for quite a while and finally decided to join you ladies. My name is Kat and I just had my last little guy eight weeks ago today. I'm 37 years old and also have a two year old and three step kids that live with me. I am trying to get back into shape. I had ten still to lose from my two year old and needless to say I'm now looking at needing to lose around 25 lbs. I used to be athletic years ago but as it seems with a lot of people life has gotten in the way. I look forward to getting to know you all and share in this journey with you and offer my supprort.

Two weeks ago I started working out at home using the Firm workouts. Has anyone here used them? I seem to like them a lot but I had a question - I have been doing one every day and alternating them - one day athe Total Body Toner, the next Ultimate Fat Burn and then I have a Tae Bo workout (Tai Fit) that I throw in there. I was only going to take one day a week off - will this help or do I need to do it every other day? They are all mostly cardio but the two Firm workouts have light weights with it? I'm just not sure what to do for the best results? thanks in advance and sorry for making my first post so long - I'm long winded

Welcome aboard!

Funny is that I used (KEYWORD: USED) to be athletic too. Did 400m, high jump, long jump, so have quite a bit of my weight as muscle - and from a family of heavy bones!

I am Kel by the way and a mom of 3 children, Precious, 4y, Trinity 2y, and Jordan 5 months.

Congratulations on the arrival of your little guy!

Have used Taebo and was very effective...and I saw review of the others in our subforums/stickies.

What part of PA do you come from, I live almost bordering east stroudsburg on one side, and can access easton a few miles down my way from NJ too.

I love the Firm workouts! I haven't used them recently because I am going to a gym now, but I have used them in the past and had really good results with them. Welcome to the board! Glad to have you join us!

Thanks for the welcome. I live up around Altoona, PA (Central) up near State College. I have a friend who's family is from Easton tho.

I'm the same way - a lot of muscle b4 - I played basketball, softball and ran a lot back then. I thought after I hit 30 things would get tough but it was nothing compared to after turning 35!

I wish I had the time to go to the gym again - I really like using the elliptical for cardio but with working full time and five kids - three of which are in school and in activities (majorettes, soccer, basketball) I'm lucky I have time to slepp - oh yea, I have an eight week old baby - there's no sleeping any way

Welcome! I'm Tonya, your other co-host and a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist. Those workouts will be fine, but make sure you wait at least a day between the two Firm workouts so you don't overtrain. But for cardio you can do that almost daily if you want. Again, welcome and if theres anything I can do to help, just let me know.

My name is Ana.. i'm on day 53 of my power90 workout.. i haven't tried the Firm workouts but only because i'm so in love with my P90 workouts.

i was athletic and loved sports! i am not big on dvd's cause i quit when im tired but wont at the gym lol

Welcome! I'm a newbie here as well! I'm working out the gym three days a week and doing videos from home the other days. I want to go more but we're having car trouble so DH and I have to take turns going.

I only have one child, Max 5 months, and even with just him and being a SAHM I have a hard time getting workouts in and eating well, so I feel for you. But good for you for making such a good effort! Sounds like you're doing great!

I haven't tried any of the firm videos yet, I'll check them out.
