each week?[/b]

I've always heard 1-2 pounds a week. My personal goal is 1 pound a week because it is attainable and I am one to give up if I am not meeting my goals. This way I will be excited if I lose more than 1 a week.

Never more than 2lbs a week because the loss is more temporal than gradual 1-2lbs.

Best wishes!

1 to 2 pounds a week. It's not uncommon to lose more the first 2 to 3 weeks and then slow down or stop for a week or so. The reason I say this is I see this happen to a lot of people so I want you to be prepared if your weight seems to stall out at the 3 or 4 week mark. I find for myself some weeks I lose 1 to 2, some weeks I'll lose 3 or 4 and then other weeks I'll lose nothing for 2 or 3 weeks. Aiming for 1 to 2 is the average though.

Why is this? I find it very discouraging. Sometimes I know I have eaten right and exercised and the number won't go down. I am one that as long as I see the number go down- even a little bit I stay motivated but as soon as it stops I give up.

I have no idea, but I know a lot of times when I stall out like that then when it comes off I'll lose a bunch all at once so I try to stay focused on that, lol. So in my head I know if I haven't lost in 2 or 3 weeks that if I stick with it usually by the 4th week I'll notice a big budge. This is just me and my pattern though. Everyone's different. I am just saying don't get discouraged if you don't lose each and every week.
