Hi everybody, I'm Alyssa and I'd thought i'd introduce myself since I want to start posting here more. I have one daughter, lilly born in jan 08 and two dogs.

before lilly I have ran 8 marathons, one sprint tri, and countless half marathons, 30ks, etc. I was even a pace leader in my running club for 3 years.

I'm on this board because my motivation is getting low since lilly. i still do my long runs with my clubs on sundays and I've ran a couple of races (halfs) since lilly was born but I think I just need a change. I've been getting interested in workout dvds lately. they are actually really tough for me which tells me running wasn't really doing much for me for overall fitness.

I'm signed up for a marathon in december but in the past I would still be out there doing my normal running routine every week. now I think i'm just going to start a running regimine in sept for the december thon like normal people. i'm feeling pretty guilty right now about cutting back on my running but I think the videos have been good for overall fitness.

as far as weight i could probably stand to lose 5 to 10 pounds but my main focus is eating healthier and keeping fit.

Welcome! I'm Tonya, one of your co-hosts and a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist. You are right about running. It is great cardiovascular exercise, but it isn't a complete fitness routine. A true well rounded fitness program includes resistance and flexibility along with the cardio. I think adding in the videos will give you a more well rounded program. What videos are you looking at doing?

I've been doing the 30 day shred, and JM's banish fat, boost metablism. I've also recorded some of the body sculpt by Gilad stuff off of fit tv. It seems similar to jillians type workouts.

Hey there! Welcome, I'm glad you came over.

If you checked secrets or the post on here, you'll see that videos is doing more for me than running was. I love running but it just wasn't giving me all I needed. I too took a break from run/tri training now that I have a good base. I'll focus on core workouts and I really believe we'll see a change in our peformance out in the races! I can't wait to be running distances like you Maybe one day right?
