What are you doing for exercise right now and how did you decide on that for your workout plan?

Right now I am using Body for Life's plan. I had been looking for a strength training program for a while. I wanted something easy to follow and instructions on how to do it. In the past, I knew exercises but I didn't know which ones I should be doing or how many sets/reps to do. I was just kind of making up my own thing and I wasn't keeping track of any of it.

I talked to my sister about this and she is the one who told me about Body for Life. She said, "I think you might like it." So, I looked at their website and looked at their exercise guide and decided to go for it. I am so happy she told me about this. It is the best workout routine I have tried ever. It's easy for me to follow and I have made progress and seen results. Plus, it's something dh and I can do together.

I plan to stick with Body for Life indefinitely. I would like to actually buy their book so I can read more on it. I know that I may not be doing everything exactly right because I haven't read the book. I read their forums and I've read most of their articles so that helps. Eventually, I'd like to start doing more advanced exercise and change things up a little but I'm trying to do one thing at a time and right now my goal is to get through my first 12 weeks on the plan.

The only workout system I've ever tried was p90x. I've done it twice, but after finishing 90 days, I was always ready for something else. When I started running I was using training plans I found online, so on "cross training" days I would just kinda see what I felt like doing. Right now my plan is to get on the treadmill every other day. I just do whatever on the other days, depending on if I'm sore, if I need a rest day, etc.

I'm doing Leslie Sansone Walk at Home videos. I've tried others in the past, but they either made my knees hurt or I got bored easily with them. I've also tried the elliptical, but get extremely bored with walking in place. With Leslie's videos you move around the room and moves get switched up. I guess it feels more like taking dance classes....following the instructor and moving about the room. It is also really easy on my knees and it's nice to be able to choose to do 1 mile to 5 miles in my own house!

My plan as of now is to start trying to incorporate exercise videos back into my day when I have time. If the weather is nice....and I have the time I really want to get back out there and walk. I've had it with the snow and cold!! It's really messing up my routine....which is why I need to figure something else out. I've decided to start trying to do a little strength training too...we shall see how that goes.

Right now I'm going to the gym nearly every day, on a two day cycle. Circuit and 33 minute cardio (strange number I know but that's what the crosstrainer program I do is lol) and then weights and free room (medicine balls, exercise balls, mat exercises) and 30 minutes on the treadmill on day 2.
