For those who lift weights what is your routine?
Do you have a day for legs, then a day for arms or do you have a push day and or pull day?

I am trying to figure out a good new routine and DH says I should do a push or pull day rather then arm or leg day. I was doing great with focusing in on most muscle gropus on arms, then most for legs. So it got me curious to see what everyone else has been doing.

I'm planning to re-organize my routine soon, but as of now I do arms/abs then legs/butt, then day off (not necessarily a rest day, just a day off from weights- I usually still do cardio and challenges).

Ok that's what I kind of figured most women do. He does it to bulk up, but I just want to tone when I do lose weight. I don't want to bulk up. I don't necessarily want to devote one workout to one muscle.

I usually do an upper body day and a lower body day but somedays I just do total body. I alternate how I lift. I will do a pyramid workout, some high rep workouts and some heavy weights. I try to mix it up every few weeks or so.

I do it like your dh.
I do chest,shoulders triceps, abs
then legs
then back, biceps, abs
then chest, shoulders, triceps
then legs, abs
then back biceps

I like doing it this way because each muscle group gets two days of rest/recovery in between and I think you will see better results this way. Plus, I decided to do it this way to make my workouts a little shorter and not take so long.

But, there are so many ways you can train so do what works for you.

Yeah we decided with me we will switch it up so my body never gets used to the same thing. Every week will be different. One week will be an upper/lower. Another will be like the push/pull day. Then switch it up again to something else. I just hope I can get my arms looking nice again.

I do a rotation along with cardio. I follow an at home program of BodyPump. I love lifting!
