Tell me about your strength training routine and cardio routine?

Right now I am only doing the elliptical for cardio. I'd like to pick up my pace on it so I'm burning more calories/fat but it's a struggle for me to just do the 20 minutes so for now that's what I'm doing. I am trying to do the elliptical for 20 minutes three times a week.

For strength training, I have everything split up into muscle groups chest shoulders triceps, then legs, then biceps and back. Plus I do my abs three times a week. I do bench press, butterflies, tricep pull downs, lying tricep extensions, squats, sumo squats, front squats, leg press, deadlifts, leg extensions, lat pull downs, barbell bent over rows, planks and a bunch of different crunches. ~ That's not everything but that's a good bit of what I do. Usually takes me 40 minutes to an hour depending on what muscle groups I'm doing and if I'm doing abs.

cardio is elliptical, walking and running, and swimming when its nice out...

strength is body workouts such as pushups, squats, and I use hand weights I upgraded to 10lb weights from 5lbs...so any arm/shoulder workouts with those...and sometimes I use them while doing squats...I also do abs and russian twists with a 5lb medicine ball...I want to upgrade that to 10lbs as well

Most of my cardio is done to dvds (Leslie Sansone, zumba, kick boxing, etc).

Most of my strength exercises are body weight exercises. I do have a few dvd's that focus on strength that I do too.

My cardio was the treadmill, running, walking and DVDs.

My strength was using the bowflex.

I run for cardio, while the weather is nice. When I'm indoors more I typically alternate using the treadmill or doing videos.

My strength training routines lately have involved compound moves with heavy (for me) weights. I do squats, dead lift, shoulder press, rows, bench press... all weighted and usually not all on the same day. I also throw in ab work when the mood strikes. Need I point out, I'm not really focusing on strength training right now... while the weather is nice I want to be out running.

I do everything at home. Right now its T25. Once I am done with it I will go back to my Les Mills PUMP/Combat hybrid. Those are my 2 favorite - best of both worlds - strength and cardio.

I run, use the treadmill, dance, do cardio circuits, and sometimes dvds for cardio. I do mostly body weight and some hand weights exercises for strength training.

I love doing body pump! If your gym doesn't have Les Mills classes, take a class that is somewhat like it. It is just a high rep, low weight weight lifting class...gets your cardio in there too! It covers all your major muscles groups and you control how much weight you use. My favorite strength training portion is squats...gives me the best results! For my main cardio I walk/run either outside or on the treadmill.

I just do the elliptical and a rowing machine. My body is not strong enough for anything else yet.
