Do you take time off from working out?

I haven't done a single workout all week, and I think it might benefit me in the long run. It was getting to where I was in pain (DOMS, but also from my tailbone problem) and feeling tired all the time, but not sleeping good. Overtraining, maybe, or more like just doing more than I should with John only 4 months old. I'm not Super Woman, afterall. I'm changing my schedule so I have two easy/rest days per week (instead of one). Hopefully I'll be ready to hit it hard starting again tomorrow. Maybe I'll just plan to take an entire week off every so often, to aid recovery.

I do 3 on/1 off and I really like it. I find that it is easier to push myself if I know that I'll have a rest day soon, and I feel like my body recovers better when I don't workout every day.

Jennifer, I hope this next week is much better for you!

I usually don't, but that's because I get thrown off a routine very easily. Working out isn't my favorite thing, so I have to do it everyday. However, if it comes to where I'm in a lot of pain, I pretty much will take a break, but I don't plan breaks.

I do sometimes. Usually it's not planned but I think taking a week off now and then can be good for you. I think it gives your body a good rest and time to recover. I may take a week off once I get to my 100 workouts. I'm thinking about doing another 100 workouts after this so a week might help me and give my body a little break before I change routines. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing.

Yup. As long as you are listening to your body, all is fair I think. Hence why I seem to be on a break right now...

Tuesdays are my "rest day" but sometime I listen to my body, like if I worked really hard and the next day I am so sore I cannot really walk...then I take that day off etc....and there are days I am just lazy too I admit
