Hi ladies!!

My Hubby and I were talking the other night and he is very upset with his weight. SO I told him that we should all do something to help our family get fit.

Now I'm 5'4 and 122 lbs. I don't really need to loose weight in the traditional sense, but rather get fit.

My hubby is 5'9 and 280 lbs.. the heaviest he has ever been in his life.

I know he can loose the weight but i think he needs some family support.

My oldest daughter is a lightweight for her age, she's 5 and at last weight in she was 39 1/2 lbs
The Baby is around 19 lbs at 6 months.

I think that if we all change our eating habits and start doing things to boost our energy then things will start turning around.

My question is.. how?

It seems like such a huge job!!

My only advice would be to not try to do too much too soon. Start with baby steps (changing eating habits, incorporating more exercise), etc. If you see that things are working, add in a little more, bit by bit, but don't try to rush things.

HTH!!!

Oh first off WELCOME to the board! So glad you joined in. I agree with start making small changes. My first suggestion would be make a goal to have a vegetable served with dinner every night. Then move on to bigger goals. I think if you do it gradually they won't notice it so much.

It's a little harder with the dhs because they can go out and do their own shopping if they want, but we are working on that here. Dh is slowly coming around to my way of thinking. G

I would start slow. If you have a good place--go for a family walk and increase the time each day. It's nice because there are no distractions so it's great family time. Change one thing about your dinner each night--add veggies, smaller portions, grill or bake instead of fried or frozen. It's just a matter of getting everybody on the same page. Good luck!
