so what are some healthy foods to eat while trying to lose weight while bfing? i know that BFing alone helps in burning a whole lot of calories, but alot of foods that i would eat that are healthier to eat give christian gas. so now all i have to eat are carbs.

i have read that bfing moms who eat more carbs than fat lose more weight, but i cannot only live on carbs....

any suggestions?

oh that will work out great for me..i love carbs! i've never been able to stick to the low carb diets!!!!

Choose complex carbs, whole grains. When I had GD I had to be on a low carb diet, I ate a lot of peanut butter sandwiches, string cheese and nuts. Strawberries (actually suprisingly low in carbs for a fruit), turkey with a slice of cheese wrapped around a pickle. cottage cheese with fruit and low fat yogurt. Choose dense bread, you'll get more nutrients and it will fill you up. The key with this was to counteract the carbs with protein. I wasn't doing it for weight loss, but I went on it at 30 weeks and I did not gain another pound for the rest of my pregnancy. And I lost the gained weight really fast. (I gained 30lbs) I'm having a hard time losing more but then I can't leave the sweet stuff alone. (I'm not eating good carbs ) but then that's my own fault. I'm really craving the carbs breastfeeding too. i think its cause our bodies are trying to maintain their weight. I need to cut those bad carbs out.

I have to agree with linda. Try to pick the complex carbs when eating them. Such as whole grain breads and things of that nature.
