How often would you think I should take my measurements? I don't want to do it so often there is no change, but I want to do it often enough to stay motivated.

It depends on the person. I usually tell clients that we want to do reassessments every 4 to 6 weeks and that is when we do measurements. However, I have been known to do them once a week or once every two weeks if I have someone who is going nuts wanting to know. You won't see as large a result by measuring weekly or every two weeks, except for the gains during TOM, but it might help with motivation.

I just thought, something you could do in the meantime... Use a strand of yarn or something to measure around your body, and then measure that length of yarn with the tape measure from your toolbox. It would work until you get a tape measure, anyway! (Don't you think it funny that a "tape measure" and a "measuring tape" are two different things? LOL!)
