As you know I made a report about chyannes abuse in PS labor day. I went in 2 weeks later because the officer said it should be ready in a week, so I gave hime extra time. Noone could find a report. I got a call later that day from him and he said he didnt write a report yet and hes questioning people. That was 2 weeks ago.

I called today and again no report yet. Got a call from him shortly after and he had major additude, telling me that pressuring him isntl allowing him to do his job, and he said he would call me when its ready and just being a typical police officer jerk.

I told him I just need an update or how long it should take because its been a month and I really need the report for other matters. (I found a civil rights lawyer and we are JUST WAITING for this report!)

He said it will be written up in 24 hours.
He is the schools DARE officer so I dont know how much he knows the teachers, KWIM?

But I dont think asking 2x in a month about the status is pressuring...and why is it taking a month to write this report? It angers me they obvously dont take Chyannes case very seriously. We live in a city that is 10sq miles....not a HUGE city where they will be horribly backed up.
I understand it takes time and police officers are busy, but doesnt a month seem a bit long to write one? Its not an investigation yet...just a police report.

Sorry to vent...but I am frustrated and just Ugghhhh!!

Yes, that is ridiculous. I would give him the 24 hours, and if you don't have your report, I would go over his head to his boss and see what the problem is. His is probably in no hurry hoping that you will forget all about it! UGH!

Thanks girls...I was second guessing myself thinking maybe I was being pushy. Well at least we will have it soon and I can get things moving! I think he knows the other matter is a civil thing....maybe thats why he is taking his time? Thinking I will forget about the charges..

That's way too long. I get that paperwork isn't fun, but come on. After it's resolved I might be inclined to report him to someone above him. Including about his attitude.
