We spent the morning looking over Math programs and finally made a decision. Maya is going to do Math U See Alpha. And she surprised me by saying she actually wants to do it over the summer! Yay!

Evan is going to be using Teaching Textbooks- probably PreAlgebra. We did the online demo and it looks great! But he will have to wait until August to start that one. He has Singapore Math to work on over the summer.

I will probably get a workbook for Gwen to work on too, even though she's only 4. She really wants to do school like her big brother and sister and enjoys the math books we've had in the past. I'm considering Singapore Math's earlybird books. Anyone have any other good recommendations for preschool math?

I haven't looked at the teaching textbooks but a good friend of mine IRL uses them with her DD and they really like them. I keep meaning to look at them but always forget when I have a minute.

I don't buy anything for preschool math because there is so much free stuff on the internet.

We did Abeka's abc/123 combo book for math and some reading readiness stuff for prek- I think we are going to stick with them and do K math, but after that I'm going to really look hard at the options according to how DS learns math best. At this point I felt it was too young to really label him as one kind of learner so...I"m just going to stick with the kinds of things we have been doing and if it doesn't end up working out, no biggie. At least I'll learn what will work!
