Oh my gosh! I can't believe we are actually DONE with school for today! Jack was done by 11:00 and Jared was done by 11:30. Jack woke up really early this morning (5am) when dh left for work. I wasn't going back to bed and told him he could stay up and watch tv if he wanted to. Well, he did. Then he ate his breakfast at 6am and we were ready to start school by 7:00. It still took 4 hours to do school with him, but it was because I allowed a 10 minute break for each hour of work. I found that seemed to work pretty well at keeping him on task. I also set a timer for each subject we were working on. Whatever he didn't finish, he has to do after lunch for homework. He didn't want to have to have homework, so he worked pretty quickly. He finished pretty much everything in the alloted time, but he does have a little homework to complete after lunch--a few problems on his math paper, write some spelling words (that he KEEPS missing!) a few times each, and some drawing for science. I'm thinking maybe 30 minutes to an hour for homework. Jared was done in 15 minutes today! He didn't have much on his plans today. Normally it takes about 30 minutes to an hour.
It just feels so refreshing to know that I don't have the rest of the day looming over us. We can enjoy our afternoon! I have some old friends coming to visit in a few minutes, so I better go freshen up so I don't look like a total SLOB when they get here. I just had to share my excitement.

How wonderful for you! I am trying to get us funished quicker than yesterday. I had a bad day with Madison yesterday. She spent almost the entire school day on Math. She was just very distracted and was unable to "get" her stuff. I made them all go to bed earlier last night and started ealier this morning. Things are much better today. We are playing catchup anyway because we missed Tuesday...grocery shopping.
I'm glad you had a good day and finished early!!!!!
