Hi! Thanks for the welcome. I'm mommy to an almost 9 year old boy and 4 year old girl.

Vaccines are important to me as I'm the Vaccines For Children (VFC) Coordinator for Wyoming. I am responsible for making sure our doctors have federally funded vaccine in their offices to give to children. Wyoming is a Universal state, which means that all our children are eligible for free vaccine. We are truly lucky to have such a program in our state and I wish more states could do the same.

So I don't have a medical background but I can possibly give some insight on some behind the scene things such as the darn Hib shortage or other info coming from CDC.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. I'm happy I found this site.

Welcome Lisa! We're so glad to have you here!

I'm Lacey, from Ohio. I have two boys Landan (8/17/03-11/16/06) & Layne (11/1/08)

Vaccines are very important to me because my oldest son passed away from Meningococcal Meningitis when he was 3yrs old. I just joined a program that is a part of The National Meningitis Assoc. called M.O.Ms, which stands for Moms on Meningitis. I'll be helping to advocate about the Meningococcal Vaccine.
My 3yr old son Landan died 23hrs after being diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis. It is a potentially vaccine preventable disease. The vaccine isn't on the schedule until 11-12yrs but is approved for use at age 2yrs. Our second son received the vaccine in December 2010 when he was 2yrs old. My son & thousands of other children prove that a vaccine is needed at a younger age.
