When you realized there was a vaccine backlash? How did it make you feel?
My 3yr old son Landan died 23hrs after being diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis. It is a potentially vaccine preventable disease. The vaccine isn't on the schedule until 11-12yrs but is approved for use at age 2yrs. Our second son received the vaccine in December 2010 when he was 2yrs old. My son & thousands of other children prove that a vaccine is needed at a younger age.

I had known about the vaccine backlash before I had kids. When that study initially linking vaccines and autism came out, I was really concerned, but its been shot down so many times, I wonder how anyone can believe it. Now I just think its ridiculous that anyone can believe that now, so I guess annoyance and confusion are my top feelings about the vaccine backlash. It seems like there's no reasoning with those people either--either you get "well that's what THEY want you to think!" or something like "a mother just knows [when their child has been harmed]" I find it bizarre that people will trust an MTV has-been over their doctor, I mean isn't the"information" she's spouting just what SHE wants you to believe?

BTW, a few days ago, cracked.com had another post mentioning how insane it is that people believe Jenny McCarthy--I'd link it here, but much of that site is NSFW, but if you're at home and want to be entertained by the sort of stuff that makes 18 year old guys laugh you should check it out.
