Hello - Im hoping for some input about possible RSV exposure. We have a 5 week old baby who has not yet been vaccinated for RSV (first dose will be given at 2 months old). I have family coming into town this weekend to see her and found out yesterday that two of them are staying home due to an RSV infection. The remaining family members are not showing symptoms of infection and expect to be able to see and hold her. I understand that the incubation period can last up to 8 days and that a person may not show symptoms until that period has passed. Im concerned that one of them may be carrying the virus and not know it. I dont want to risk exposing her and want to ask them to wait even though they may not understand. Should I tell them they need to wait to see or hold her? Or am I being over-protective?
