I am wondering if its going to be a problem to enroll my kids in public school if we do not get vaccines? I am in Texas. I have not filled out the form for Exemption until today and they said it would take 2 wks to get it back. I am suppose to enroll my kids in the morning. Do you think this will be a problem? Will they make us wait till we have the form back? Will they give us trouble even if we did have a form? We currently homeschool and I am putting them back in school for awhile. Just not sure how it all works. Thanks

here in PA my friend had no problem, handed them the exemption and was ok to register for school. I just enrolled DD In a private preschool and i had to fill out 2 forms, my dr fill out one, and write a letter, but they were ok with it.

Just let the school know when you register that you've already filed and that it should be in hand soon. It shouldn't be an issue. Texas is pretty lenient on vaccinations.

Good news for you. Texas now offers a "philisophical exemption" for vaccinations. Most states only allow medical or religious exemptions. Only Mississippi and West Virginia require you to get your child vaccinated for public school unless they have a life-threatening reaction though.
