Hi mums,
I am new to this forum. We are moving to the US next month, currently overseas, and would like to seek a religious exemption - state of NJ, but since we have no reference point, no contacts, no one to ask, I have no idea if it is possible at all. So I've reached rock bottom right now and hoping someone, anyone can help.

What I want to know is if the state of NJ is ok with religious exemptions (or is this too broad a question) - as in, if you are new to a school district, who will look at your letter and decide to approve/reject it, will they be critical and perhaps look at you/your child differently, what will the process be (as in do they accept your paperwork - along with the letter - and it means it is approved, or take the letter and review and get back to you later, etc). It says the letter doesn't have to be notarized but will it be better to have it notarized?

And, what happens if your letter gets rejected - do you then have to vaccinate according to a schedule they give you, and will that schedule have the minimum time intervals between the injections, which is terrifying.

I simply don't know where to turn since I don't know the ground reality, apart from the websites that give sample letters and say go try it. If I can get some information (any information at this point), I would be SO grateful. Thank you!
