DH and I just got married in May and we were happy to find out on Tuesday that we're expecting. My last period was on 8.20....so it's sooo early. I find myself feeling that I'm afraid to feel excited it seems too early. DH does not want to talk about anything negative or anything that could go wrong. I've always been a worrier...i worry about my health, his health (we're healthy) or just other unpleasant things that could happen. Anyone else nervous? It feels like I'm at the beginning of a new relationship, i'm so happy but then i'm like, oh no what if this doesn't work out! I havent even made a dr's appt yet...I've read that usually people get them when they're 6 weeks along?

Congrats. The doctor's appt. depends on your doctor's office. I know a lot won't see you until your 8 weeks along. But it's always best to call once you get your BFP.

Congratulations!! Here I have an appt where they take blood and take history. You don't see the Dr until 12 weeks! I had blood work ordered when I first got a + test to officially date my pg. My numbers nearly quadrupled (they should double) and I was ballooning up like crazy and they wouldn't take me seriously. I had to go to the mall (no joke) to an u/s place to get my twins confirmed at 8 weeks. They are naturally occurring, so I wasn't seeing a specialist. The minute I mentioned twins I got right in for an u/s and was diagnosed with a SCH which was scary, but it healed on its own. Its torture to wait when you are first pg for that first appt ! I think 8 weeks is reasonable. I don't like the 12 weeks practice that is common here!

Hi Molly - I can understand where you're at. My husband and I just got married in May as well, and we were pregnant 2 weeks after our honeymoon. I understand being nervous, but I think it will all work out fantastic!!
