Hi my name is Erica. I posted once or twice earlier this year since I was considering being a surrogate and was in the process of talking to a few couples. During the process as you can see by my picture we had a surprise and I had my 2nd daughter Rowan on 10/24. I've started to look again into being a surrogate and have found someone I want to work with. We've had a dinner together and right now we're working on getting a contract set up and making sure everything is good with insurance.

I do have maternity coverage but would anybody know how likely it would be to cover surrogacy? I plan on being a TS and it's through Blue Cross Blue Shield.

WELCOME!!!!! First---your daughter is BEAUTIFUL and the name is so amazing!! I love it!!!

Second---if your insurance booklet doesn't say that it blocks surrogacy (as in you being the surrogate) I would say you are good to go. Sometimes calling is something you can do. But in most cases, not saying anything to them up front when they have your insurance information in front of them can be the best way to do things. I never said anything to my insurance, and the booklet just says that they won't pay for me to have a surrogate, not be a surrogate.

Third---I am so excited to hear you have a possible match!!! Welcome aboard the Surrogate Mommies group and I can't wait to follow your journey!!!
