My name is Carrie and I am currently 9 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and planning our first homebirth. My husband is finally on board with it and is actually maybe going to catch the baby. We have a husband and wife team of midwives that are awesome and said they would be as involved or uninvolved as we want them to be.
My DH still has no idea what to expect from a homebirth as it had never even crossed his mind before I brought it up. We were talking last night and I told him I want to give birth in our bedroom (because I think it would be the most comfortable, intimate, etc). That if I didn't give birth in the birthing tub I would want to give birth in our bed. This idea totally freaked him out (he just thought he would never be able to sleep in our bed again if I got birthing fluid all over). But, after discussing it a bit he started to come around. Anyway, this is going to be a totally new experience for us (our daughter was born in a hospital but it was a natural birth) and I am really looking forward to it.
