Everything is ready and waiting! Just need a baby now! I'm very excited! I cleaned the tub the other day and gathered everything I needed to provide and it's all sitting next to the tub waiting with the birth kit from my midwife.

Everything has been going good so far. MW is excellent, we have a back up OB, will have our homebirth paid off or closely paid off next month, aswell with everything we have left to get for baby and birth. Hmm, what else. No concerns at the moment. Had our 1 and only u/s and everything looks good. I'm 21 weeks and next appointment is Jan. 4th.

I've got about 7 weeks left till due date. We're starting to get on the birthing supplies list and should be getting the tub here in a couple weeks. We go to see an OB at the local hospital to see if he's OK to be our back up just in case we need him. We still have to pay off the midwife yet too. I so don't feel prepared at all yet...

I do have the clothes and blankets washed though and am getting DH on getting the bassinet in here so that I can wash all of the bedding and stuff for that. I don't question one bit my choice of a homebirth though. I enjoy not feeling like I'm a sick person to the midwives!

I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow. I'm excited and I'm scared. I'm more scared that I won't get to do this. I have that low lying placenta which is freaking everyone out. Not me. I'm okay with it. I have another ultrasound planned for next Monday to check on it. I pray it has migrated up. My blood work wasn't too good either. Whatever it is that you take iron for... it's low, it's 9.7 and my midwife says it has to be 10 to have a homebirth. So, she told me to go get Floradix. I will be getting that tonight. (I have been taking OTC iron, so I find it weird that it's still so low).

I got my birth kit a few days ago. I got sheets and towels. I got some of the other stuff on the list. I still need a few things. And receiving blankets. Apparently, I threw all of them out after the last baby.

Thank you Amber (Lovinmygirls) for my signature

I am! I'm 23 weeks now and have the midwives picked out. There are 2 of them in the practice and they'll both be at the birth. They're actually in Africa right now doing midwifery care there, so my first "real" appt with them isn't until Jan. 4. I had one consultation with them in person before they left and seriously fell in love with them. I'm doing concurrent care with my OB (a former home birth midwife!) until they get back.

The downside of the home birth is we have to pay the whole cost. But the midwives did take some $$ off because of that. Our insurance is Kaiser and they only pay for stuff done at Kaiser, which means all my labs/ultrasounds/tests, etc are free when I go there and then I can just print out the results and take them to the midwives. But we have to pay out of pocket for the midwifery care and delivery at home.

I'm a little nervous right now because my EDD is 4/5, but we're basing that off of an u/s since I only had 1 post-partum period after having Lily. I have a feeling that I'm due more end of March. DH just told me that for 2 weeks in March he has to be gone for training for work. He's supposed to get back when I'm 37.5 weeks pregnant. I'm just worried that I'll go into labor early and he'll miss it all.
