For those that have had a waterbirth... how was the tub drained when you were done?

Didn't make it to the birth pool in time to have my waterbirth. We used a submersible pump. Placed the pump in the pool and it pumped the water into the bathtub.

I think Jason pumped it out the back door.

My best friend ended up transferring and I ended up at her house at 10 at night draining it with a submersible pump into the bathtub. That pump was ****** slow.

My m/w didn't empty it....I guess it never occurred to me to ask her if she did or not. So the NEXT day me and DH got buckets and scooped it out. It wasn't that bad really. But I'm just a little annoyed the m/w and her assistant didn't do it.

I used our garden tub so it was super simple This time I am renting my midwife's tub and I am pretty sure she has a pump. DH will take care of it, I think we are draining it into the tub or sink.

My midwife told me she has a pump that she brings, and will pump it either to the shower or outside (probably outside since I think the tub will probably be in front of the doors to our patio) She told me that's something I don't have to worry about so I'm assuming she'll do it while we're resting
