Does your midwife provide a lot of breastfeeding help and information? Did you find it necessary to seek out extra help, or was the help provided by your m/w enough?

My midwife is, I believe, a certified lactation consultant. If not, she's close and said to call her if I needed any help or had any questions at all. Fortunately, except for needing the shield for a while, which I was able to ween her from on my own, we did pretty well with BFing. I have recommended her to my SIL, who didn't use her for a midwife, but my m/w told me my SIL could call her anyway.

(same midwife) I did need a bit of help because Kya had such a strong latch I ended up with cracked and bleeding nipples despite her latch being correct. Other than that I didn't need any extra help.

Yep, she does help with breastfeeding, but the issues we had were beyond her scope of care/knowledge.
