Hi everyone, I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Tiffany, mom to my 19 month old son (10 points if you guess his name ) and a Navy wife. Before having Evan I was an apprentice to a homebirth midwife, but plan to pick back up with my training when we get back to a sea duty. I had Evan in a hospital birth, after compromising with my husband to have him at an in-hospital birth center, thus making my body so scared I wouldn't dilate past 4 on my own. His birth was truly horrific for me and all future babes will be UP/UC. I know how beautiful homebirth can be and will claim it for myself from now on, no more compromising. I've attended over 80 homebirths and actually caught 9 babes as they entered the world.

I look forward to talking with all of you!

Welcome, Tiffany!! You have quite a story there. I can't imagine going to to hospital for my birth, having seen the births I have. But it's something I'm having to face and deal with right now, too (for other reasons, though!). I'm sorry your experience was "horrific" , but I know that you got a beautiful baby out of it and you've obviously taken what you can learn about yourself and your body from it, which is the most any of us can do with our less-than-stellar experiences!

Welcome welcome!!!! I'm sorry you had a bad experience, those DH's can really be a PITA. Props to you for claiming your future births for yourself, I look forward to reading your future UC stories

Welcome! I'm so sorry your first birth experience wasn't as you hoped it would be, but good for you for looking to the future.
