Hello. My name is Kim and I have 2 boys. One is 14 and the other is 3. I will tell you I am definitely a proud parent!!!!
I have recently decided to go back to school and am loving it. Which brings me to how you may be able to help me. I am doing a research paper on Home Births vs. Hospital Births. I do not not know about you, but I did not even know that home birth was an option nowadays. I am trying to get information from mothers that have experienced either one of these types of birth. I want to put that personal touch into my paper. Maybe you can let me know your experiences with the birth of your baby and what made you go with the birthing option you choose. I will not use the information in my paper without your permission. I am going to have to check the guidlines for citation of a personal conversation but will try not to use names. The only other person to read my paper will be my teacher and one peer, which is intended to provide me with a peer review.

Since I have begun my research I have found tremendous amounts of information, yet it all seems to be technical and written by doctors and midwives. I will be using this but I thought that if I could put some information from people that have experienced this then my paper would have more depth. I thank each of you in advance and can not wait to hear your stories. Since I have reviewed the information I have gathered I am definitely going to give home birthing my next child some serious consideration!

Thank you again.

Not sure if I'd be useful or not, but I had an unassisted homebirth on purpose. You can pm me too or email me at mommamenges @msn.com

I am having my first baby in October/November at home. You might check out Ina May Gaskin's book A Guide to Natural Childbirth, I know she has pages of birthing stories from former clients in the front of her book.
