Hi, everyone! Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself here. I'm Kristin, and I've just found JM (so glad I did!) I'm wife to Gene and mom to Rachael (3.5), and expecting our second little girl in late November. We're planning a midwife-assisted homebirth for her arrival, probably in water.

My first daughter was born in a hospital...pretty typical, I suppose. Induced with pitocin, epidural, etc. It wasn't a horrible experience, except for the epidural (her heartrate plummeted just afterward) and the separation just after her birth...you room in with your baby at that hospital, but they put her in the warmer and all I could see was a nurse's backside for a good long while. So, all things considered, I really didn't want to repeat that!

I also started training to become a birth doula after Rachael was born, so needless to say I've learned a lot since then... Now, I'm very comfortable with my body's ability to handle this, and my husband is (surprisingly) 100% supportive of a homebirth. We absolutely love my midwife, and I'm just looking forward to November now!

Looking forward to meeting you other homebirth mamas!

Welcome to JM and to this group. Your daughter's birth sounds a lot like my first one, I was induced with pitocin and ended up with an epidural. With my second I had a natural waterbirth in a birthing center that sits outside of a hospital. So now this being my third, I"m planning a midwife assisted home birth.

WELCOME to the group and SO glad you found us! There are so many wonderful, supportive women here. I just had my first home water birth. I LOVED my home birth and am convinced this is the absolute BEST way to labor and birth~! My others were water births in a freestanding birth center. Hope you'll be able to have a water birth...it's absolutely WONDERFUL! If you need any advice or whatever feel free to ask away!

The world today is upside down because there is so very little love in the home, and in family life. We have no time for each other. Everybody is in such a terrible rush, and so anxious…and in the home begins the disruption of the peace of the world.

Thanks for the welcomes! With only three months to go, I'm starting to get really excited about meeting this little one...more so now that the midwife has given me the list of supplies to have on hand, info on getting the tub, etc. I feel a bit like a freak for being *excited* to labor and give birth and home!

Hi Kristin! Your experience is all too familiar-they say "rooming in" but those first 3hrs of baby under the warmer is quite a seperation. I've been a labor doula for 6yrs now and know just how you feel.
