This morning on GMA they talked about home birth, and there is a place on their site to give them your opinion. I just wanted to encourage those who are comfy with it to go and put in your two cents!

Oooh, I wish I'd known they were discussing that this morning - I'd have loved to watch!

Guess I'll refrain from commenting since I haven't had an unassisted birth and can't really say...I could go on for eons about home birth in general though. Some interesting comments on there already.

And I just got a good laugh out of another headline on their site: "Why Pregnant Women Don't Topple Over"!

Not to bad as far as articles go, though admittedly some of the comments are infuriating. Ah well, I put in my two cents Thanks for the let know!

I posted one last night

The WORST comment so far that made me shut the screen to stop myself

I'll say it again - "trust birth"? Dumb....[/b]

It is obvious from the responses to the story, however, that supporters of UC and homebirth are very vocal and adamant in their beliefs. But they are also often very misinformed, spouting incorrect statistics and beliefs - NOT FACTS. Hospital birth is inherently safer (note I did not say more pleasant) for mother and baby because unforseen emergencies happen, even with low risk pregnancies. The "trust birth" mantra is simple-minded and well, not very smart![/b]

Thanks to everyone that posted! I didn't have a home birth, but that's because I hadn't researched it at that time. I've told DH that if we have another child (though we've so far decided we're done) that I want to have a home birth. I'm so ecstatic to see that many of the comments on the page are actually in favor of homebirth!
