My mom is throwing me a baby shower in July and i'm about to make my invites so i was wondering what ya'll thought about having a baby shower that is more like a family-oriented thing. We were planning on bbq-ing and instead of having just women we would invite everyone, their hubbies and kiddos too. We would still be kinda separated, like the women would be outside playing games and doing the "traditional" baby shower stuff but the guys could be inside having a beer and just hanging out and maybe helping to watch the kids. DH thinks this is a ridiculous idea and so now i am wondering if we should just nix it and do the regular women (and kids) only thing. WDYT?

I had a couples (and family) shower on a Saturday night and it was great!!! The guys drank some beer and played cornhole and the women oohhed and ahhhed over gifts. It was more of a party for everyone to enjoy instead of a boring shower!!

Thank you JMC1988 for my AWESOME siggy!!

Thanks Chelsea for our awesome baby love siggies! You rock!!

I don't think it is weird. I went to one recently and it was a lot of fun. And the dad-to-be seemed to like being included.

I think it would be great to do.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, one of my showers was fun with all the men there.

I went to one a few months ago. I was a family event. They actually had games for the women and the men.

I don't think that's weird at all. At my last baby shower, my fiance and I were together at his Aunt's.
