Feel free to post any food recipies you have that would be good for a shower!


One 8oz package of cream cheese
One jar of salsa (buy whatever kind you like) i use mild
shredder cheese

spread the cream cheese out in a shallow pan evenly
then poor the salsa ontop of the cream chese and spread it out
sprinle the cheese over the top untill its covered and put it in the fridge!

You might want to take it out about 20 min before the guests arive so it can soften some. I used Scoops for chips because they're stronger but again use what kind you like best!


1 can of Strawberry Kiwi crystal light
3 2 liters of Ginger Ale

Mix them together and you have a wonderful punch! (It turns out a dark pink color)

1 2 liter Ginger Ale
1 2 liter Hawain Punch
3 to 4 of the 4 oz pineapple juice.

mix all three of these together till it has a taste that you like.

Strawberry Punch

1-2Liter Strawberry soda
1-container of ice cream--however big you need
Frozen sweetened strawberries

Really easy!

Sun-Dried Tomato Mozzerella Appetizer
Yeild: 20

1 pt Cherry tomatoes
1/4 lb Mozzarella cheese, part
-skim milk, diced
1/4 c Olive oil
1 Garlic clove, minced
2 tb Fresh basil leaf, minced
1/4 c Sun-dried tomatoes,
-oil-packed *
Black pepper

* If using oil-packed tomatoes, drain well and pat dry. Mince. If using dehydrated, soak in water for a few minutes according to directions on package. Dry, then mince.

Cut mozzarella into 1/4-inch cubes. Chop fresh basil leaves finely. Mincegarlic clove; use more garlic if preferred. Combine the cheese, basil,
garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and black pepper in small bowl. Add the oliveoil and blend well. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to blend flavors.

Justbefore serving, prepare cherry tomatoes by removing the stem end, cutting a
thin slice from bottom of tomato to keep it setting straight and removing center from tomatoes with melon baller or small spoon.

Sprinkle inside of tomatoes very lightly with salt and invert on paper towels to drain
briefly. Stuff the tomatoes with the cheese mixture, garnish with small basil leaves and serve immediately.

Chicken Puffs

4 tablespoons Butter
1/2 cup Water -- boiling
1/2 cup Flour
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Cheese -- shredded
2 cups Chicken -- cooked
2 tablespoons Olives
2 tablespoons Wine
1/4 cup Mayonnaise

Melt butter in boiling water. Add flour; stir vigorously. Cook and stir until mixture forms a ball that doesn't separate. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Preheat oven to 400. Add egg; beat vigorously until smooth. Stir in cheese.

Drop dough onto greased baking sheet, using 1 level teaspoon dough for each puff. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven; cool and split. Finely chop cooked chicken, pimiento, and olives. Combine with remaining ingredients. Fill each puff with 2 teaspoons.

Cheese Ball
Yield: 12 servings

1/2 lb Cheese; cheddar ,grated
1 ts Worchestershire sauce
1 pk Cream cheese; small (4 oz), 1 x Tabasco sauce
2 ts Onion; grated 1 x Nuts; chopped, reserve some
2 ts Ketchup or chili sauce

Have cheese at room temperature. Blend all ingredients together with a mixer or in a food processor. Line small bowl with plastic wrap and empty mixed ingredients in lined bowl. Refrigeate overnight. When ready to use, unmold, remove wrap and sprinkle with nuts. Serve with assorted crackers. from The Absolute Begineer's Cookbook



1 carton 1% cottage cheese
8 tb Lite sour cream
1 (1 oz.) pkg. dry ranch dressing mix

Cream Cheese Cracker Spread

1 pkg. cream cheese (softened)
1 envelope dry ranch dressing mix
Black pepper

Mix soft cream cheese and dry ranch dressig mix together. on wax paper sprinkle black pepper roll mixture in pepper. Put in container and put in frig to firm up then take out and enjoy on crackers.


1/2 c Sun-dried tomatoes -- finely
1/2 c Black olives
2 Cloves garlic
1 tb Fresh basil
2 tb Olive oil
1 t Red wine vinegar
Salt & pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients and stir until mixed completely. Salt and pepper to taste. Chill before the party.

Cheese sandwiches:
Cut each sandwich bread slice into 4 squares. Spread each with 1tsp whipped cream cheese. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. 30 calories each.

Cucumber sandwiches:
Cut each sandwich bread slice into 3 circles. Spread each with 1/4tsp margarine or butter, softened, or 1tsp whipped cream cheese. Place a thin cucumber slice between each 2 bread circles. 60 calories per appetizer.

Pizza sandwiches:
Combine 2-3 TBS pizza sauce (store bought or homemade) and 2-3 TBS lowfat cottage cheese. Spread the mixture onto one half of an English muffin, sprinkle with parmeson cheese and broil for about five minutes or until the cheese is melted on top. A yummy and creative sandwich.

Oh mommies, do I have the spinach dip to die for.... It's the biggest hit at all the parties I have had.

Baked Garlic & Bacon Spinach Dip

2 tsp dill weed
2-3 cloves of glaric, fine chop
1/2 c Mayo
2 pkges lite cream cheese
1 lb chopped spinach, thawed (I have partially thawed and came out fine)
1 c shred/grated chedder cheese (if you are cheese lover add more)
1/2 lb bacon, cooked and finely chopped
1/4 onion, finely chopped
1 round loaf (medium to large)
1 french loaf (I prefer egg bread)

* Mix all ingreds together except breads. Be sure to mix well after dill weed and garlic.

* Cut round laof to make lid. Hallow.

* Pour mixture into bowl. Replace lid and foil. Bake for 2 hours @ 350
Serve warm!!!

*Cut or tear the inside of round loaf and french loaf

I assure you, it will melt in your mouth.. ENJOY

I have no idea what these are called but everyone I have made them for has loved them.

jar of large Dill pickles
tub of cream cheese
Deli Ham sliced for sandwhiches

Spread the cream cheese on the ham, roll pickle and stick toothpicks and cut.

They are soooo good.

You can also do this and they are called Wagon Wheels

Cream Cheese
Deli Ham and/or Turkey

Spread cream cheese on tortilla
put ham and turkey on the tortilla and roll
Stick with toothpicks and cut

They are yummy too.

Baby Shower Cakes
This recipe will make about 28 baby shower cakes

8 oz cornstarch
4 oz (˝ cup) superfine sugar
6 oz (1˝ sticks) butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoonful baking powder
1 tablespoonful milk
˝ teaspoonful vanilla extract
Pink food coloring
Blue food coloring
you will also need
A muffin pan lined with paper baking cups (paper cupcake liners).

Cooking Instructions
The butter for these little baby cakes needs to be soft, so you may need to take it out of the refrigerator several hours before baking. The eggs too should, ideally, be at room temperature.

Begin by putting the butter and sugar into a large bowl, then cream (beat) together until the mixture is light and fluffy. Next, beating well after each addition, add the eggs one at a time. Then add the milk and the cornstarch and beat for a further five to ten minutes. Now add the baking powder and the vanilla extract and mix well.

After this put half of the mixture into another bowl. To one bowl add enough pink food coloring to make the mixture look a definite pink, and mix. And to the second bowl add enough blue food coloring to make the mixture look a definite blue, and mix.

Then put one generous teaspoonful of the pink baby cake mixture into 14 paper baking cups and one generous teaspoonful of the blue mixture into another 14 paper baking cups.

Now lightly sprinkle the cakes with superfine sugar. And bake for about 15 to 20 minutes at 375°F.

If you know whether the baby is a boy or is a girl then you can, of course, make all the baby cakes blue or all the baby cakes pink.

For a baby shower, chips are a quick and easy finger food idea
- why not try them like this, with a dip?

And for the Dip
8 oz cream cheese
2˝ crushed cloves of garlic
4 scallions (green onions)
Salt and pepper to taste

Begin by finely chopping the scallions including the green part – this will add color. Then put the cream cheese the crushed garlic and the chopped scallion into a bowl.

Now just mash all the ingredients together until completely mixed, and then season with salt and pepper to taste.
