Welcome! I think that I noticed around the end of first trimester that my milk changed. My daughter said it tasted like cheese. Possibly your son wont like that and reduces his nursing. Your milk may also decrease making it less worth the effort. My DD still nurses but not nearly as much as before... then again she's also bit older.

As for the nights, would you like to try to night wean? I think I started limiting DD around that age (she'd sleep with the breast if I had let her but that meant no sleep for me). I'd let her nurse for 10 minutes and after that the breasts went to sleep. She was upset the first few times but eventually agreed. I found the breasts sleeping to be quite a nice way to decrease her nursing, it was something she understood.

It's hard when it's during the night and they're older. Maddie night weaned around 14 months and by that time I was so ready for a full night of sleep. Mak weaned herself when I was around 8wks pg with Maddie. My milk really changed and she didn't like it. Maybe try night weaning and see what happens. Sleep is priceless, especially when pg.

Hope you
