<span style="color:darkturquoise">It's been three months since I last logged in onto JM!
Just totally been enjoying my maternity leave and my time with my baby Moreno.

But now that I'm back I thought I'd introduce Moreno and myself to ya'll! Since I now got an infant and everything..

Moreno Steve Maxwell was born on July 19th, 2008 at 21:12

He is totally named after important men (to us) in our families..
Moreno after his dad's second name (it was supposed to be his dad's first name, but his dad mixed up his names.. lol So Maurence always has said he was going to name his first son Moreno)
Steve after my brother who's been in a coma since September 2001. I was closest to him out of all my brothers (mainly because we're eleven months apart), he was my best friend.
And Maxwell after Maurence's grandfather who was his father-figure when his own father stepped out of his life. He passed away in November 2004. He was everything to Maurence.

Birth story for who ever is interested:
That morning I was having cramps like I was about to have my menstruation. I was also having some bloodloss. So it really felt like aunt flow was coming by. Which isn't possible ofcourse.

Anyway, Saturday morning at about eleven I called the preg-doc (we got special preg-doc's over here.. They're no real ob/gyn's, but like a family doctor specialised in pregnancies.. Something like that) to make an appointment to strip me (stripping = to pull the placenta loose from my cervix, it helps stimulate contractions) on Sunday, since I was due on July 10th, so nine days overdue.

The cramps started to come regularly after that call, like every five minutes.
And when they came every two minutes at about four o'clock they were really painfull. So Maurence decided to call the preg-doc again.

An hour later she came to check on me and she told me I was in labor, I was dilated 3cm.
She said normally it takes about an hour per cm when it comes to dilation. So she would come back at eight to check up on me again.

So at eight she came back and she told me I was dilated 5 cm. But I was having really heavy contractions at that time. So she checked me again after three very heavy contractions and all of a sudden (after three contractions) I was 7cm dilated.

So at that point she decided to break my water with some sort of a needle. Brown water came out, which means the baby had pooped in the water. So at that point she said we had to go to the hospital (I was planning on giving birth at home). There was no need to panic, but if there are complications she wants us to be at the hospital so a gyn can assist.

I did stress for a split second though, because my friend Anna gave birth last month to her daugher Indisja, and she had pooped in her water too and poop came in her lungs. She was very, very ill and almost didn't make it.

I didn't had much time to stress out though, because like thirty seconds after she broke my water I started to feel the need to poop myself. That was no good sign! That meant the baby was about to come out. It took ages for us to go downstairs (our bedroom is on the second floor). I had to quit and catch my breath at every step on the stairs. lol And everyone was like "come on, another step, you can't have this baby on the stairs".. haha

The ten minute ride to the hospital felt like an hour! But as soon as we got there they helped me pull down my pants and they didn't even check on me anymore. They just said "Go ahead and push". And with three pushes Moreno was born.

So all in all I can't really complain. The contractions were very heavy, but therefor the total labor was short. The whole neighbourhood and hospital knew I was giving birth though. I screamed all the way from the stairs in my house up until the baby was born. "Aaaaaah!! I gotta ######!! I can't have this baby here! Lil one, you'd better stay inside of me untill we're at the hospital. Aaaaaaah" laugh lol

This is our first familypicture. like fifteen minutes after giving birth, so don't watch my hair.. lol
