Hi everyone! I feel a bit bad asking this since I am sure there are quite a few of you not getting a whole lot of sleep at night... but... is it normal for my 7 month old to sleep so much! She goes to bed between 8:30-9pm and sleeps until about 9:30-10am. She never wakes up once during the night. Then, she will nap from about 11:30-1pm, and 4-6pm, sometimes with a 30-45 minute cat nap at a random time during the day. Now, I am more than happy to be getting so much down time and sleep time, but should I be worried she is sleeping TOO much. When she first wakes up, she still seems tired, but after her bottle, she is always awake alert and on the go. She is VERY busy, crawling, almost walking..into everything.

So, what do you think? Should I be concerned? Should I try waking her earlier? Or is it perfectly ok to enjoy my sleep time?!

First of all you could always ask your pedi. what they think, and take notice if she is lethargic. If not, then from what I can tell, it seems normal. I've been told that if they're acting ok otherwise then it's usually normal. I have an 8 month old son and he usually sleeps about the same schedule, and I was asking myself the same questions. I've been told and read that they go through phases where they will sleep more, like if they are going through a growth spurt. Then they will start sleeping less when they start teething, which is my son's case as he is a great sleeper ordinarily. Also, they can start waking up at night to practice their new accomplishments. The older they get, the less they will wake up through the night to feed as well. I used to wonder if I should wake my son up to nurse him if he slept too long, but the doctor says to let him sleep through the night. It seems normal from my experience, she is probably just exhausted from her busy day!
