Oh wow, I don't know Helen, but I am a newb at animation, only done it a couple times. Hopefully one of the more experienced ladies will have some ideas. My first thought is to use the smudge tool to blend the layers, but that is really a guess I am afraid.

It is very cute btw, really nice job!

I don't know exactly what you mean about the graininess, it looks fine to me. The second edit looks smoother than the first (the rainbow). Something I noticed is that this siggy is too wide, it's 726 pixels wide and JM allows 600 width before it shrinks it. Now I don't know if this will solve anything for you, but thought I'd throw it out there.

there will ALWAYS be a little bit of graininess to animations....but like julia said if its wider than 600 JM will resize and create even more graininess

I've resized it and it still looks just as grainy .. but it could be my computor screen ???? I've posted it anyway and put the non animated version so she has a choice ... I just thought I'd post it as Julia said it looked fine so keeping fingers crossed it looks fine for her !!!

I don't know if this is what you mean, but I think I might change the speed of the animation. I would use a delay time of 0 for each frame of the rainbow so that it 'grows' faster. I would also probably put a longer lag time at the end, maybe 1 second, where the full rainbow is showing before the animation starts again. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. But the I would not have the edge of the rainbow so blunt. It does look good though.

On IE8 I can see the lines on the rainbow that are bugging you, but on Google Chrome they aren't there, hence why it looks fine to Julia!
Nothing you can do about it, it's all Internet Explorer's fault!!!
