I did not want to post this on facebook, because my mother is a worry wart and she does not need anything else to worry about right now (another story in itself!)

So, the results of her cardiology appointment today were not as great as I had hoped they would be. It is not terrible, but she did not get the all clear we were hoping for. She had a heart tracing done today and it was slightly abnormal, and they are hearing what sounds like a second heart murmur. The good news is she is only showing some of the signs of her heart defect, she has never fainted (that we know of) and as far as we know, she does not have any chest pain (though she does often say she has a belly ache and he thinks that could be a link). SHe does often have shortness of breath..... They also mentioned that they heard what sounds like a 2nd murmur...... So, she has to go again and have a new ECHO done and they will determin what happens next.
I just wanted to get an update to you ladies, because you all are awesome!

If anyone is curious about what we are dealing with:

Is this something that might fix itself or does it need surgery or do they just monitor it? I hope that everything is as good as possible.

We don't know for sure what the game plan is yet, not until after the echo... They have been monitoring it since before she was born, and things were going great up until now.... but like I said, it could be much worse. There is a possibility of surgery, I am really glad that we did not have to do surgery when she was a newborn though, we dodged that bullet!
