We got Jay registered for school in PA (in case we didn't move) so I had his birth certificate and immunization record out for that and for some reason I didn't put it right back when I was done with it. Then we moved and here's a big surprise... we can't find either one!!!! Have to have the birth certificate (not a copy from another school) to get him registered for school so this morning I ordered a new one... and to insure it will be here asap I paid to expedite it which cost me a lovely $48. Then I lucked out and when looking through my endless EOB's realized he had his last shots done in PA so I called and they had a copy of his shot record and are mailing it to me. I was really surprised she was willing to do that, last time I needed a copy of my own kids files from the doctor I practically had to give them a blood sample to prove I was really their mom! Hopefully the school will be happy with that, or the health dept I should say. Apparently in FL you have to take your immunization record to the health dept and get it transfered onto some form that the school will accept?! Werid! What gets me is that I did this same exact thing with Joe's birth certificate right when we moved to Idaho and had to do this then!! UGH! I told my husband I'm going to go ahead and order a second copy of Hunter's birth certificate now so I can be prepared for when I do this with him in 3 years! *sigh*
