I don't know if it's just me, but this whole kindergarten experience is emotional for me, haha.

Jackson had his first field trip on Monday. All the kindergarten classes went to an orchard to go apple picking. I went along as a chaperone. It was fun seeing all the kids running around looking for apples, and being there for my son. They all got a little basket and got to bring home all the apples they picked. It was a fun morning and I'm glad I got to go.

I love seeing my son with his class, it's so cute!

Aww, did you take lots of pictures?
I went with my son on his field trip to the apple orchard today. He's in 2nd grade. I try to go on a few field trips each year. There was a class from another school there. The kids were probably in kindergarten. I can't believe how much smaller they look than the 2nd graders. I got sad and started wishing we could just go back to kindergarten! Pretty soon he won't even want me to go on field trips anymore. Enjoy it while you can!

I know what you mean. So far everything this year is making me emotional.

DH volunteered at DD's school today for the Terry Fox run and he said DD (who's 4.5) spent the whole time walking either ahead of him or behind him with her friends, barely acknowledging him. He was pretty bummed.

I'll be going with her class to a pumpkin patch in a couple of weeks. I'm nervous about it because they'll be traveling by school bus across the city and I have to drive in my car since there's no room for parents in the bus. I'm looking forward to spending that time with her, assuming she wants my attention. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to getting to know some of the other parents.

annaerine - I did take quite a few! I'm planning to do as much as I'm able with him. I know they look for help with playground supervision too, so I might do that once in awhile.

~MamaTutu~ - Awww, poor DH. That is hard. When I dropped my son off the first day, he ran in and didn't even look back at me. I am hoping I get to help out a little more so I can spend time with him and meet the other parents and kids.

Aww, sounds like you all had a good trip.

I wish parents were allowed to go on field trips here, but we aren't. I don't know how just 2-3 teachers can handle all the kids.

Wow, that is strange. They were saying they needed a few volunteers, but whoever wanted to come was welcome.
