Progress reports came in Joe has an A in social studies, A in language arts, A in reading, B in science (and he's 2 points off from an A in that!) and.......... a D in math, surprise surprise!

I'm going to plan a meeting with his teacher and see what we can do to help him with the math. He's doing so well in everything else, if we could just get that math up to a B I'd be thrilled!! I have a feeling she is going to recommend the after-school tutoring which he will not be overly happy with but it's gotta be done. I feel for him, I struggled with math all the way through school, I was soo hoping he would get my husbands crazy math skills but instead he has my sucky ones.

I hear ya! Math was always my worst subject too. My husband's pretty good at it and unfortunately only one of my girls inherited his skills. The rest of us have to suffer.
Good luck to Joe.

Same here.. Ari & math don't get along either! She's been being tutored since last year. Helps big time though, I can't help her at this point (6th grade math). Hopefully Natalie does better in Math!

Good Luck to him!

A tutor should definitely help, whether it's a private tutor, someone at school helping him, or through a company like Sylvan Learning Center.

Good luck!
