What summer activities will your gradeschooler be involved in? Any sports? Camps? Groups? etc.

So far just one week of Vacation Bible School towards the end of the summer. We also have several vacations planned, and will spend our weeks at home sacked out at the swimming pool I'm sure.

They weren't interested in any of the camps being offered this summer so I'm just planning out activities for us to do over summer. I figure a few education trips, a few fun trips. Then we'll probably go on a few mini-vacations (meaning just getting a hotel on the beach for the weekend).

Brinlee is doing a tennis camp (2 hours a day, 4 days a week, for 5 weeks) and a running club (they meet twice a week for an hour in the evenings, for a month and finish up with a mile race in our downtown area). She might also do a summer dance class, instead of taking the summer off. Not sure yet though.

My girls still nap, so we are trying to break them of it this summer. Therefore, every waking moment of their summer is filled. They are in a 2 week safety camp, 1 week art camp, private swim lessons at our house, 4 weeks of acting camp, 2 weeks of a gifted academic camp, and a 1 week nature camp. Plus, they are still in piano lessons, karate, and their regular swim lessons. I know it looks overwhelming, but they have to stop napping for first grade
