Hi There,

I have three children (7), (4) and (2) years old. They really enjoy doing arts and crafts at home and I encourage it. The problem is there is crafty materials and supplies are just randomly all over the house. In presses or shelves, in containers etc.. What do people usually do with their art materials, do you have one set place to keep them all? I'm talking paints, glue, paper, paintbrushes, pom poms, googly eyes, pipe cleaners etc.. All suggestions welcome~!
Also where do you store all the artwork they bring home from school? I usually just keep the good ones on the fridge and dump some of the others. would love to hear what others do, Thanks!

My husband made a drawer to fit under the sofa for the materials, but an under bed tote would work as well, I also use ziplocks to keep it organized. I keep the papers on a bookshelf, and play dough is above the washer (because they sneak play with that the most. ) besides the basics I do keep scissors and stickers and my hole puncher in a makeup box in my room (the craft box my kids call it) so I can guard it (mine are 5, 4, 2, and 3mo). Basically drawer: pencils, crayons, markers, coloring books, poms, pipe cleaners etc, box: scissors, hole punch, stickers, expensive bits like colored beads, sticks. And the play dough is out of reach, glue and tape are in my kitchen drawer. My mom kept everything in a closing computer cabinet from Walmart. When we have more room Iíll probably do that too.

For art work, I put a few pieces on my wall, and some exceptional pieces in a notebook, the rest I let them decide if they want to keep or toss, at the end of the year I let them make a book for grandma out of whatever they kept and they bind it with construction paper and yarn and itís a great craft project. We keep them in a file folder on the bookshelf until then.
