Someone I barely know told friends of mine that I had no business having kids because of the possibility of passing my disorder down to them. That is was selfish of me to have kids knowing that it's a hereditary disorder, and putting them at risk of developing it.
What do you tell people who have opinions about your life choices??
I had my first 2 sons before I was diagnosed. We got pregnant this time, shortly after I was diagnosed, knowing this would probably be our last child.
I love my children dearly, but it really hurt my feelings that others had opinions about it without even knowing me, or the situation I was in.

This is what I tell people:My parents dont have ANY auto immune illnesses and I still got TWO. People STILL get illnesses, even if there parents dont have it. KWIM? My daughter was born before my UC dx and my son was born before my MS dx...but I most likely had them BOTH before I even had kids...no one knows what the future holds.

That's what I think. I have 2 sisters who are fine, and the chance that I developed it after my Mom was dianosed was really slim, but it happened.
